Restaurants serving authentic "Milanese cuisine"

The DeCa Brand "Denominazione di Cucina Ambrosiana"

One of the most enjoyable things to do when visiting a city is tasting local food.

This is why the DeCa (Ambrosian Cuisine Label) brand was created in Milan in 2006. So, if you are looking for a place to try  authentic Milanese risottoyou know how to find out the right place.

This concept lists the typical recipes from Milan and its province, enhancing local produce, using the correct cooking methods and ingredients, in order to certify the restaurants that serve Authentic Milanese Cuisine.

Hence, the venues that voluntarily undertake to join the DeCA brand use high-quality typical and seasonal produce (preferably obtained with traditional processing methods) to guarantee the label. They also adopt the original preparation methods and provide customers with information on the main characteristics of each recipe, in order to promote Milanese history and gastronomic culture.

Each DeCA restaurant - identified by the logo affixed to their windows and menus - offers a minimum of five traditional Ambrosian dishes all year round: these vary in accordance to the seasonality of the produce. Furthermore, members guarantee  excellent levels of hygiene, conservation, processing and dosing of the products. So all you have to do now is to choose your favourite restaurant from the complete list of 84 venues which awarded DeCa recognition.
