BIT, the International Travel Exhibition, returns to Milan from 9 to 11 February. This historic event, organised by Fiera Milano, has been bringing tour operators and travel enthusiasts to the Lombardy capital from around the world since 1980.
On Sunday 9 February, the travelling public will be able to visit the show and discover all the latest trends and travel destinations in Italy and overseas. Italian regions taking part include Piedmont, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Liguria, Tuscany, Umbria, Marche, Lazio, Puglia, Basilicata and Sicily, to name just a few. Among the foreign tourist boards attending are Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, and also Egypt, a country returning to BIT after an absence of several years. Other parts of the world represented at the fair are the big long-haul, Far-East destinations particularly popular with Italians, such as the Maldives, Seychelles, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia, along with those in the Caribbean, such as the Dominican Republic. Closer to home, other prominent countries taking part include Croatia, Cyprus Moldavia, Poland, Spain’s Canary Islands, Israel and Guatemala.
And finally, in the I Love Wedding area in Hall 4, the agents will be on hand to offer their advice to newly-weds looking for honeymoon ideas, recommending the best destinations for those who recently tied the knot: Mauritius, Japan, Australia, the Seychelles, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Bali and Java, among others.
