Allianz Cloud ex Palalido

Allianz Cloud ex Palalido
Piazza Carlo Stuparich 1

After an extensive revamp, involving both the internal and external structures, one of Milan’s great temples of sport reopened in June 2019 and the former Palalido has now become the Allianz Cloud.

The iconic Milanese multi-purpose arena, an auditorium for sports and great concerts, was initially inaugurated in 1961 and was then rebuilt in 2019 when it reopened with a completely new guise and with extended capacity.

Now vaunting a grand total of 5,309 seats, the Allianz Cloud Arena tops the ranking for national and international sport’s venues, as well as being an iconic stage for great rock concerts; in the past it has staged performances from the Rolling Stones, The Rockets, The Police, Deep Purple, Europe and Zucchero.

Its modern and elliptical design structure is reminiscent of a spaceship with a covered roof integrated with photovoltaic and insulating panels, LED technology lighting and a modular heating system. Indeed, the construction of the new building was focused on sustainable choices, energy saving and respect for the environment.

The Palalido regeneration venture evaluated the existing architectural features and then embarked upon a project that led to improving not only its accessibility but also the usability and comfort of the spaces.

Powervolley Milano is located in the vicinity, an ambitious association that has created a successful Volleyball Academy in Lombardy.
