For the first time, La Scala Theatre presents Strauss and Hofmannsthal's forgotten masterpiece Die Agyptische Helena. Sven-Eric Bechtolf, a well-known opera director, brings the opera to the stage, the same show that found its fortune in Dresden in 1928. In Die Agyptische Helena it will be possible to enter exotic settings, chasing love, ghosts and apparitions ready to charm the public. It will be easy to wear Menelaus’ clothes, who presses his girlfriend Elena all opera long. And so we go to the theatre to discover with curiosity a work that has been left out in order to enjoy his happy ending.
