Change, evolution, metamorphosis. Every year the city changes, and these perpetual shifts also affect fashion: an invariable factor in the identity of the city of Milano.
From February 21st to 27th, Milano Fashion Week Moda Donna, the key event on the Milano fashion calendar, makes its return to create dreams and aspirations. The biggest names in FW will enchant a global audience with their Autumn-Winter 2023/2024 collections.
The second date in 2023 for the women's collections will be from September 20th to 26th, with the spring-summer 2024 trends. Ferragamo, Boss, Anteprima, Moncler and Antonio Marras are all eagerly anticipated shows, but the future of fashion also looks to the many young talents who are given an ample platform.
One of the mega events for this season is the Anteprima fashion show for its 30th anniversary, celebrated in the Arena Civica at Parco Sempione. Then, to wrap up the week, the Cnmi Sustainable Fashion Awards will return on the evening of September 25th.
Moda Uomo, already protagonist from January 13th to 17th with all the new menswear styles, steps back into the spotlight from June 16th to 20th to present the Spring - Summer 2024 collections with events, fashion shows and trends that will dictate the new directions for 2024.
Carnival in Milano means traditions and fun! On Saturday, February 25th, 2023, for the special Ambrosian carnival, you can participate in all the celebrations which last 4 days longer than in the rest of Italy.

Milano transforms into a huge citywide museum with special openings, exhibitions, workshops and engaging initiatives that will be posted online as a single programme.

A tribute to Bill Viola, the world-famous contemporary video artist, encompassing his works from the seventies to today, arrives at Palazzo Reale from February 24th to June 25th. An extremely intense emotional, intimate and spiritual electronic journey that takes us from the artist’s works inspired by classical iconology to those that focus on the relationship between man and nature.

An unmissable date in mid-April with Art Week, dedicated to art in the city, and the Miart fair for those who want to navigate creativity between the past and present.
After having dismantled the ‘silence’ of 2021 and commencing the ‘first movement’ in 2022, the Miart 2023 fair continues in the vein of musical metaphors by shaping its visual identity around ‘Crescendo’ for the new April edition. A wide audience of Italian and international collectors and amateurs will be able to discover masterpieces from the early twentieth century to the creations of the latest generations, in a crescendo of quality, participation and audience.
Once again, in April, Milano the Capital of Design steps under the spotlights of the world of creativity and design with Milano Design Week and the Salone del Mobile: presented from April 18th to 23rd at Rho Fiera and throughout the liveliest city districts.

From May 19th to 21st it's time for PianoCity in Milano: a music revolution that has been reaching a crescendo since 2011. This popular event always makes the first move: PianoCity Milano goes out to meet the public in the piazzas, the houses and in unconventional public spaces to peacefully invade the entire urban area, not just the city centre.
Milan, turn up the volume! The great Music City par excellence is anticipating an electrifying music scene in 2023.
Summer brings all the big festivals to the city: Milano Summer Festival (SNAI San Siro Racecourse) and the I-Days (La Maura Racecourse) will feature Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Florence + The Machine, Travis Scott, Paolo Nutini, Arctic Monkeys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Liam Gallagher + The Black Keys, Iron Maiden and lots more big names.
From festivals to the San Siro Stadium which, for summer 2023, will host performances from the brightest stars on the music scene, such as Coldplay, Maneskin, Depeche Mode and Muse. Tickets and reservations are available on the main distribution channels.

June is Pride Month in Milano, dedicated to celebrating the LGBTQIA+ community. As every year, Milano Pride will include a series of events and initiatives focused on raising awareness of queer-friendly and civil rights issues. Most of these will be organized in the Casa dei Diritti and will then conclude with the traditional colourful procession that parades throughout all the city streets, from Central Station to the Arco della Pace.
Definitely two dates to add to the calendar: Pride Square on June 22nd and 23rd, 2023 and the Pride Parade with a grande finale on June 24th, 2023.
Milano 2023 is a particularly important edition as it is crucial for qualification to the 2024 Paris Olympics: MiCo Fiera Milano Congressi will host the great fencing masters who, from July 22nd and 30th 2023, will battle it out to win the title of fencing world champion in the epee and foil categories, and in team competitions.
The national athletes Luca Curatoli, Rossella Gregorio and Alice Volpi will also be on the platform.
The arrival of autumn will mark the return of two of the city's popular week-long cultural events. Firstly, MILANO DIGITAL WEEK dedicated to education, culture and digital innovation promoted by the Municipality of Milan and, secondly, BOOKCITY MILANO, a week of meetings, presentations, dialogues, readings, exhibitions, shows and seminars on new reading practices based on ancient, contemporary and brand-new books. These will be held in public and private historical libraries, bookstores and various venues around the city.
The dates are yet to be announced, but these will definitely be events not to be missed!

December in Milano means the First Night at La Scala: December 7th celebrates Sant'Ambrogio, the patron saint of the city, along with the inauguration of the La Scala opera season. The Premiere on December 7th is a unique musical, cultural and society event in which dignitaries, politicians and personalities from the entertainment world are invited to take part. For those not lucky enough to be on the theatre’s guest list, the entire city will be transformed into a huge cinema thanks to the Prima Diffusa live screenings.
Christmas in Milano: various events are scheduled in the city for both adults and children to enjoy the magical festive atmosphere: from the twinkling trees, to the Christmas markets, the Santa Claus Villages and, not forgetting of course, the skating rinks.
