Parking
There are metered parking place along the street and in the immediate vicinity of the theatre. There are 2 parking spaces for disabled pass holders in Via San Nicolao, 30 metres from the theatre.

Entrance
The main entrance has 1 step on the outside (h 8 cm) and a double-panelled door (each panel 68 cm wide), which leads directly to the foyer. Persons with motor disabilities can enter the theatre through a wide entrance door (276 cm wide), followed by a 20 metre section along the left hand side of the inner courtyard. From here, access is gained to the Boccascena café. The theatre itself is reached 20 metres beyond the cafe, through a hinged door (82 cm wide) followed by a double-panelled door (each panel 56 cm wide).
Reception
The Boccascena café contains:
- the info point (counter height 116 cm)
- the ticker office (counter height h 116 cm)
The staff can provide information and assistance.
Theatre
Situated in the city centre, the theatre occupies one with of Palazzo Litta, one of the most important works of late Baroque Lombard architecture. The theatre seats 200 and has a manual double-panelled door (each panel 54 cm wide). There are four places reserved for wheelchair users, situated on each side of the front and back rows.
Bathroom facilities
The bathroom with disabled access is on the ground floor, within the bar, and has the following specifications:
- anteroom with 90 cm wide hinged door
- suspended washbasin (space in front 165 cm)
- bathroom with 90 cm wide hinged door
- suspended washbasin (space in front 164 cm)
- floor-mounted WC (space in front 97 cm, 66 cm to the right and 61 cm to the left, no handles).
Bar - café
The Boccascena café is on the ground floor. It has a manual double-panelled door (each panel 56 cm wide), and consists of two rooms (with seating for 70), furnished with square, four-legged tables (64 cm space below) and an outside zone (with seating for 40) furnished with round, four-legged tables (72 cm space below). The cash desk height is 117 cm. Vegetarian menus are available.

The theater is sited in a traffic limited area (200 m). It is possible to park in the garage in Piazza Meda, furthermore in Via San Protaso (200 m) there are two parking spaces reserved for people with permits for citizens with disability.

Entrance
The main entrance, sited in piazza Paolo Ferrari 6, has 4 steps (h 16 cm) and swing doors (156 cm). Alternatively, the spectators with motor disabilities can access from the entrance of piazza Cuccia: through an inclined ramp (slope 9%), after a few meters on a road surface porphyry and granite, it is possible to reach the box office (2 double swing side by side doors 140 cm).
Reception
On the ground floor there are:
- the box office (counter h 114 cm)
- the foyer, arranged with sofas and chairs (respectively seats h 40 cm and 45 cm).
Interior spaces
The three levels of the theater are connected by a spiral staircase designed by Caccia Dominioni (steps with carpet h 16 cm).
Lift
The lift that links the three floors of the theatre has these features:
- cabin 60x75 cm
- activation key h 140 cm
- control panel maximum h 145 cm
- visual signal for the arrival at the floor.
Theatre halls
The theater has: stalls, first and second balcony. Two seats are reserved for people on wheelchair: one in the second gallery and one at the entrance of the stalls low. It is necessary to communicate the presence of spectators with motor disabilities at the time of booking, by phone +39 02 36727550 or by e-mail biglietteria@teatrofilodrammatici.eu.
Restrooms
The accessible toilets are sited in the Accademia dei Filodrammatici: the entrance, in front of the box office, has a swing door (91 cm) and an inclined ramp (slope 8%). The toilet has these features:

- suspended washbasin (frontal space 102 cm)
- WC on the ground (h 51 cm, frontal space 60 cm, right hand space 39 cm, left hand space 200 cm, there are no grab bar).

Entrance
From the main street you enter a pedestrian gallery leading to the theatre entrance.
The gallery has a step (13 cm), that can be overcome by an inclined ramp (100 cm long and slope of 8%).
The theatre entrance has three double-leaf doors placed side-by-side (110 cm wide each leaf).
Reception
On the ground floor there are:
- the ticket office (counter height: 122 cm) with speakers
- a large foyer
- the cafeteria/bistrot.
On request, the disabled spectator can be accompanied into the hall by the staff. In case of emergency, a member of the staff will do the necessary procedure to make people with disability leave the hall.
Lift
The building develops on three levels, linked by a circular glass lift with these features:

Cafeteria/bistrot
The Bistrot "Olinda" (counter height: 115 cm), managed by a social cooperative, is on the ground floor and has a large area furnished with square tables with four legs (free space underneath 73 cm).

The restroom equipped for people with disability, on the ground floor near the bistro, has these features:
- dressing room sliding door: 86 cm wide
- toilet sliding door: 88 cm wide
- suspended washbasin (clear floor area: in front: 112 cm)

An equipped restroom, on the ground floor in front of Sala Fassbinder, has these features:

Theatre halls
The Sala Fassbinder, on the ground floor, has 210 seats 3 of which are reserved for wheelchair users and are located by the entrance. It can be reached overcoming 8 consecutive steps (17 cm), or you can avoid them using an inclined ramp (slope of 3%). This hall has a double-leaf door (130 cm in total).
The Sala Bausch, on the second floor, has 100 seats 2 of which are reserved for wheelchair users in the first row. It has a hinged door (128 cm).
The Sala Shakespeare can be accessed from various floors; the entrance for disabled persons is on the second floor. The hall has 500 seats, 4 of which are for wheelchair users sited in the middle of the hall on the right hand side (in front of the stage).It has a hinged door (128 cm).

Walking through the inner courtyard on the right side for about 30 meters, you enter the theater through a double-leaf door (82 and 60 cm wide each).

Theater hall
The hall (189 seats) has 4 places reserved for wheelchair users and 4 reserved for their companions, located at the back of the hall on the right side.
Toilet facilities
The accessible toilet for people with disabilities is located on the ground floor inside the theater hall and has the following characteristics:
- dressing room with manual sliding door (85 cm wide)
- toilet with manual hinged door (89 cm wide)
- floor-standing toilet (clear floor area: in front 84 cm; on the right side 50 cm; on the left side 30 cm; not provided with handlebars)
- high contrast symbols indicating toilet facilities, positioned at eye level, using medium to large size letters.

Ticket office
The ticket office is sited outside, in front of the theatre (the entrance door is a double swing door, 116 cm, counter h 95 cm).
Entrance
The entrance to the theatre, overlooking a large square, has 4 double swing doors placed side by side (total opening for each door 232 cm). When exceeded the double swing doors it is necessary to cross two others double swing doors (260 cm, always opened) in order to enter in the wide foyer.
Reception
In the foyer there are:
- the wardrobe (counter h 100 cm)
- the bar (counter h 114).
Lifts
On either side of the foyer there are two specular lifts that lead to the different levels of the hall with these specifications:
- external call button h 112 cm
- door 111 cm, cabin 200x141 cm
- control panel in Braille and raised control panel maximum h 146 cm
- acoustic and visual signal for arrival at the floor.
Theatre halls
The theater has a total capacity of 2,375 seats. At the entrance of the stall there are 6 seats reserved for wheelchair users, on the left side, in the first row.
Restrooms
The two toilets equipped for people with disability are sited at the sides of the stall. To get there it is necessary to walk for about 15 m on the carpeted floor with these features:
- toilet with swing door 92 cm
- suspended washbasin (frontal space 175 cm)
- WC on the ground (opening front bar of sitting h 53 cm, frontal space 125 cm, right hand 50 cm, left hand 130 cm, grab bar on both sides).
