Entrance
A wide gate in Via Cambiasi (260 cm wide) gives access to the 10 metre path leading to the theatre entrance.
Access to the entrance hall to the theatre is by 9 consecutive steps (h 17 cm), which may be avoided by using the stair lift operated by the theatre staff. A no entry phone is installed, we advise contacting the theatre in advance to make use of this service. Access to the theatre is by a hinged door (120 cm wide).
Reception
The entrance hall contains:
- the ticket office (counter height 122 cm)
- foyer with 3 benches (h 45 cm) and 2 sofas (h 40 cm).
The staff can provide information and assistance.
Theatre
The theatre seats 98. It has a manual hinged door (120 cm). Three places are reserved at the rear of the theatre for wheelchair users and two for those accompanying them.
Bathroom facilities
The disabled bathroom is in located near the ticket office, and has the following specifications:
- anteroom with 90 cm wide hinged door
- bathroom with 90 cm wide manual sliding door
- suspended washbasin (space in front 115 cm)
- floor-mounted WC (space in front 86 cm, 30 cm to the right and 117 cm to the left, no handles)
- simple toilet symbols at least 7 cm high, in contrasting colours with that of the door, at eye height.

Entrance
The courtyard of the villa is reached from a broad gateway (320 cm). 20 metres further on, 1 step (h 2 cm) and a double hinged door (each panel 77 cm) lead to the outbuilding. A second hinged door gives access to the garden.
Access to the villa is by 7 consecutive steps (h 16 cm), a double hinged door (each panel 94 cm), 3 more steps (h 17 cm) and a second double hinged door (each panel 94 cm).
Facilities
The outbuilding contains:
- the information desk (counter height 110 cm)
- the ticket office (counter height 110 cm)
- a bookshop (counter height 110 cm).
The museum staff provide information and assistance.
Only guided tours are available.
Direction signs
The building contains:
- direction signs with arrows and large characters (at least 7 cm), which stand out clearly against the background.
Lift
To reach the lift on floor -1 of the villa, go along the outside of the building, go through a gate (132 cm) and go over an inclined ramp (gradient 7%, length 240 cm). Proceed through the garden for around 10 metres, pass through an opening (85 cm) and go over a second inclined ramp (gradient 7%, length 12 m) to reach the secondary entrance to the villa, with a hinged door (115 cm) and mobile inclined ramp (gradient 14%, length 113 cm).
The lift has the following specifications:
- door 80 cm wide, internal space 128x115 cm
- internal pushbutton panel at a height of 120 cm
- no acoustic and visual floor signals on arrival
- emergency alarm bell (h 140 cm).
Exhibition layout
Built between 1932 and 1935 to a design by the architect Portaluppi, Villa Necchi Campiglio is a sumptuous villa surrounded by a spacious garden with tennis court and swimming pool.
The exhibition space occupies the four internal floors and the garden.
The distribution of the rooms reflects the original designs by the owners and architect. The ground floor, with its prestigious public rooms, houses the Claudia Gian Ferrari Collection of 20th century Italian works. The first floor, which contains the bedrooms, which can be visited.
The spacious top floor (floor 2), which originally contained the servants' quarters, and the semi-basement floor, on which the utility rooms, gym, dressing rooms and projection rooms were located, is used today for temporary exhibitions.
Bathroom facilities
There are three disabled bathrooms.
The first is on floor -1 of the villa, and has the following fittings:
- anteroom with 90 cm wide hinged door
- suspended washbasin (space in front 240 cm)
- bathroom with 80 cm wide sliding door
- floor-standing toilet bowl (space in front 130 cm, to the right 127 cm, to the left 20 cm, handrail on both sides).
The second disabled bathroom is located in the garden, to the right after the ticket office, and has the following fittings:
- bathroom with 83 cm wide hinged door
- suspended washbasin (space in front 100 cm)
- floor-standing toilet bowl (space in front 100 cm, to the right 26 cm, to the left 123 cm, handrail on both sides)
- the bathroom symbols stand out well against the background, are located at eye height, and are medium to large in size.
The third disabled bathroom is located in the bar, and has the following fittings:
- bathroom with 77 cm wide hinged door
- suspended washbasin (space in front 123 cm)
- floor-standing toilet bowl (space in front 125 cm, to the right 80 cm, to the left 150 cm, horizontal handle to the left)
- the symbols in all the bathrooms stand out well against the background, are located at eye height, and are medium to large in size.
Bar/Cafe
The Villa Necchi Cafe, located in the garden, is reached through a gate (132 cm) and an inclined ramp (gradient 7%, length 240 cm). 10 metres further on, a double hinged door (each panel 82 cm wide) leads to the canopied outside area, which is furnished with four-legged round tables (space below 70 cm).
The spacious interior (40 covers) is furnished with four-legged square tables (space below 72 cm). Menus are available for customers with gluten intolerance, vegetarians and vegans.

The emergency evacuation routes are marked. There is a visual and acoustic alarm system.

Entrance
The entrance has 3 consecutive steps (14 cm) or an inclined ramp on the left side of the façade (slope of 5%, 5 m long, handrail on both sides).
To enter the building you must overcome two consecutive double-leaf doors (79 cm wide each).
Building layout
The Palazzo dell'Arte, where the Triennale is, is a wide building on different floors: 0, +1, +2, -1 and a garden.
On the ground floor there are:
Infopoint/cloakroom, Ticket office, Spazio Education, Bookshop, Cafeteria, some exhibition rooms among which the Museo del Design Italiano, a restroom equipped for disabled people and one dedicated to children.
On the 1° floor there are:
exhibition rooms, conference rooms, a restroom equipped for disabled persons.
On the 2° floor there are:
the “Terrazza Triennale” restaurant.
On floor -1 there are:
the Triennale Milano Teatro, a restroom equipped for disabled persons, the way to reach the garden.
Reception
In the entrance hall, on the ground floor, there are:
- the info-point (counter height 101 cm)
- the ticket office (counter height 110 cm with a part lowered at 78 cm)
- the Spazio Education: a room for educational activities for visitors of all ages (hinged door – 115 cm – wide spaces)
- the Bookshop: a room with shelves and displays at different heights and wide passageways
In the exhibition rooms there are cultural mediators at your disposal for information on exhibitions and tourist reception services.
Lift
The lift is in the entrance hall on the ground floor near the bookshop and it links all the floors of the building (-1, 0, +1, +2). It has the following features:
- door width: 80 cm, cabin 133x157 cm,
- raised control panel at a maximum height of 118 cm,
- acoustic and visual signal for arrival at the floor
- emergency bell at a maximum height of 123 cm.
Exhibition itinerary
The Triennale hosts many events and temporary exhibitions. It also hosts the Museo del Design Italiano where some of the objects that made the history of the Italian design are displayed.
All exhibition spaces on the ground floor and on the first floor are accessible.
The Museo del Design Italiano is on the ground floor; the exhibition itinerary develops among pedestals and showcases (maximum height: 70 cm, good pivoting space for wheelchairs) where some design object are displayed. In correspondence of some works of art there is a telephone where you can listen to a recorded presentation of the object made by its designer.
The garden is in the back of the building. To reach it from the hall in the entrance you must reach floor -1 by lift and then follow an accessible itinerary leading to the garden. It's a grass without paths but has some seats and the “Caffé giardino” Cafeteria open during summer. There you can admire “I bagni misteriosi”, a famous fountain by De Chirico.
Restrooms
On the ground floor there is a restroom equipped for people with disability and one for children.
The second restroom equipped for people with disability is on the first floor and has the following characteristics:
- toilet with hinged door (90 cm wide)
- suspended washbasin (clear floor space: in front 160 cm)
- suspended toilet (clear floor area: in front: 95 cm; on the right side: 27 cm; on the left side 140 cm; grab bar on the left side of the toilet and handrail on the right side).
- high contrast symbols indicating toilet facilities, positioned at eye level, using medium to large size letters.
On floor -1, near the Theater hall, there is an equipped toilet for people with disabilities with the following characteristics:
- dressing room with hinged door (89 cm wide) and suspended washbasin (clear floor area: in front: 200 cm)
- toilet with sliding door (83 cm wide) and suspended washbasin (clear floor area: in front: 100 cm)
- floor-standing toilet (clear floor area: in front: 100 cm; on the right side: 26 cm; on the left side: 115 cm).
Emergency exit
Emergency routes are well indicated. There is an acoustic and visual alarm.
Caffè Triennale
The Cafeteria is on the ground floor and can be reached from the entrance by crossing the hall. It's on a raised platform preceded by 8 steps or, to avoid them, you can use a stairlift. It has a large room (70 seats), furnished with square tables with a central leg (free space underneath 73 cm). Meals for people with celiac disease, vegetarian and vegans are provided.
“Terrazza Triennale” Restaurant
The restaurant is on the second floor and from here you have a wonderful view on Milan's skyline. It has a hinged door (102 cm wide), an inside room and a terrace; it is furnished with four leg tables (clear space underneath 73 cm).
Meals for people with celiac disease, vegetarian and vegans are provided.

Guided tours are available for the Stadium and for the Museo di San Siro; in the stadium there are Family Friendly areas and a strollers depot; courtesy baby carriers are available, too.
Entrance
The main entrance has a swing door (121 cm) and a path of about 30 meters with soil (2,5 cm) and a swing door (110 cm).
Reception
The ticket office staff (counter height 120 cm) uses a dialogue system speaker.
Lift
The lift that links the ground and the first floor ( red grandstand) has these features:
- door 72 cm, cabin 102x126 cm,
- raised control panel (maximum height 128 cm),
- acoustic and visual signal for arrival at the floor.
The Museum is on two floors linked by a lift. Main features:
- door 80 cm, cabin 100x130 cm,
- raised and in Braille control panel (maximum height 100 cm),
- acoustic and visual signal for arrival at the floor.
Exhibition itinerary
The Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, the largest in Italy, it has been called ‘La Scala del Calcio'. It is mainly dedicated to football competitions, but it also hosts big events. Inaugurated on 1926, it was later expanded and renewed.
The route begins with an internal tour of the ‘Mix Zone' and the corridors (width 110 cm) where the players are interviewed. From here it begins the dressing rooms area with swing door (123 cm). People with motor disability can access the dressing rooms area passing through the Executive Room (swing door 122 cm). From here it is possible to reach directly the covered outdoor area in the lateral side of the field. The visit continues with the playing field and the red grandstand. To access the playing field there are 2 steps (17 cm); alternatively, people with disabilities can use a route with a short ramp (gradient 21%).
It is possible to reach the red grandstand going overcoming 2 flights of stairs (14 steps of 15 cm) or by using the lift. The spaces here are wide and accessible.
The stadium tour ends with a visit to the Museum, where the two teams display a collection of historical t-jerseys, cups, trophies and shoes.
The museum entrance, sited after the turnstiles in an independent building, can be reached overcoming an inclined ramp (slope 3%) and a manual swing door (198 cm). The Museum is on two floors linked by a lift.
On the ground floor there are multimedia stations (touch monitors at 88 cm from the floor) with information, games and quizzes on Milan and Inter. Note the Braille panels and a tactile model of the stadium (89cm from the ground).
On the first floor there are display cabinets (h 93 cm) with historical photos of the San Siro Stadium and historical jerseys of the two Milano-based teams.
Restrooms
In front of the dressing rooms there is a restroom. Main features:
- outer room and inner room (door 80 cm),
- WC on the ground (frontal space 138 cm; right-hand space 40 cm; left-hand space 35 cm)
- “sala Soft” with baby changing unit; in order to enter to the “sala Soft” it is necessary to overcome 1 step (h 4 cm) and a swing door (80 cm).
The two toilets equipped for people with disability sited in the Sala Executive have these features:
- outer room and inner room (door 90 cm),
- washbasin (frontal space 130 cm)
- WC on the ground (h 51 cm, frontal space 128 cm; right-hand space 130 cm; left-hand space 22 cm; horizontal grab bar on the left side).
On the ground floor of the Museum area there is a toilet equipped for people with disability. Main features:
- dressing room (door 82 cm),
- washroom (door 85 cm),
- WC on the ground (h 46 cm, frontal space 120 cm; right-hand space 20 cm; left-hand space 105 cm; horizontal grab bar on the right side),
- baby changing unit.
Bar/Café
Outside the Sala Executive there is a bar with a swing door (150 cm). The bar (seating for 35) is arranged with a counter (h 116 cm), square tables with four legs (free space underneath 71 cm).

The museum hosts exhibitions, events and conferences. To reach the rooms on the ground floor and the lift leading to the first floor, it is necessary to overcome 4 consecutive steps (h 14 cm) or alternatively use a stairlift.

The accessible toilet for people with disabilities is located on the ground floor, in front of the ticket office, and has the following characteristics:
