Parking
It is sited in a pedestrian area and it overlooks the homonymous square, on corso Vittorio Emanuele. There are two parking spaces reserved for people with permits for citizens with disability on piazza San Babila. It is also possible to park in a garage in via San Pietro all'Orto.

Entrance
Entrance to the church from the square is by three steps (14 cm) or a fixed ramp (rubber and aluminum, gradient 6%, width 92 cm) on the right of the façade. The entrance has a swing door (105 cm).
Interior spaces
San Carlo al Corso is one of the most typical neoclassical churches in Milan. The space is occupied in the center by pews with hassocks and chairs (height 46 cm); there are no obstacles. On the left of the presbytery, four steps (13cm) lead to the sacristy. In the inner courtyard it can be seen the bell tower, that is the highest in the city.

How to get there by public transport
The areas in the immediate vicinity of the abbey have no public transport service. The ATM bus 121 stop at San Giuliano Milanese FS, and the Autoguidovie Sud-Est bus z420 stop at Roma-SP 164, San Giuliano Milanese Station, are around 1 km away.

Entrance
Access to the courtyard is by a gate in the car park (114 cm wide). The surface is loose gravel. Visitors using wheelchairs or with reduced mobility are advised to go to the caretaker's lodge in the monastery to ask for the entrance door to the abbey to be opened in full, as the section which is normally left open is too narrow. The entrance to the abbey also has 1 step (h 3 cm).
Direction signs
The following signs are located on the outside:
- direction signs with large, clearly visible characters (at least 7 cm)
- a column-mounted audio guide (h 84 cm from ground level) in Italian, English, French and Russian.
Exhibition layout
Inside the abbey, which is one of the most important mediaeval complexes in Lombardy, the central nave, lateral names and Santissimo Chapel can be visited without barriers. Entrance
The Mirasole Abbey, founded by the Order of the Humiliates, is built around a courtyard overlooked by the church of Santa Maria Assunta, the fifteenth-century cloister and the agricultural buildings (the latter used today as conference rooms, for concerts and cultural events), a food court and a charity shop.
After a stretch slightly sloping (slope of 5%), the courtyard can be accessed by passing through a wide main entrance (360 cm wide) surmounted by a thirteenth-century tower.
Reception
The infopoint-ticket office (counter height: 76 cm) is located on the right side of the courtyard and can be reached by passing in succession 1 step (9 cm high) and a hinged door (96 cm wide).
Chiesa Santa Maria Assunta
From the entrance of the courtyard, through a gravel path of about 40 m, you reach the Church of Santa Maria Assunta. The entrance has 1 step (8 cm high) and a double leaf door (84 cm wide each).
The church, dating back to the thirteenth century, was rebuilt in its current form and dimensions in the first half of the fifteenth century. It is a single nave church, and on its back wall you can admire a big fresco of the Lombard school depicting the Assumption. The church also has notable paintings from the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
The church has pews and chairs (seat height: 46 cm) and can be visited without obstacles. To access the altar and the choir, you need to overcome 1 step (16 cm high).
On the right side of the nave, there is a chapel dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin that can be reached by overcoming 2 steps (13 cm high each).
Cloister and permanent exhibition
The cloister can also be accessed from the farmyard by overcoming a step (4 cm high) and a double leaf door (124 cm wide each). The cloister has a portico characterized by stone arches and columns and one of these columns holds a capital with the emblem of Mirasole. On the cloister overlook the refectory, a meeting room, the chapter house, the prior's hall and the “Sala del Frutteto”, now used for events and permanent and temporary exhibitions.
In the chapter house there is a permanent exhibition on the history of Mirasole. The entrance has 1 step (10 cm high) and a hinged door (89 cm wide). The hall has several panels at different heights (110 cm and 170 cm) that illustrate the story of the abbey from its origins until today; moreover, important sacred objects are exhibited including the relics of San Carlo Borromeo, Sant'Ambrogio, Santa Lucia and Sant'Antonio Abate. In the Sala Frutteto there is a permanent photo exhibition on the Abbey restoration works. When entering the hall you must overcome 1 step and a hinged door (85 cm wide).
Halls and exhibition spaces
The halls used for hosting events differ in dimensions and characteristics. Some halls, like the “Sala Scuderia”, overlook the courtyard on the ground floor; others are inside the cloister and are on the first or second floor. You reach the first floor through two flights of 13 steps (15 cm high each) or using the lift on the right side of the courtyard, in the co-housing space (the entrance has a 2 cm threshold and a 90 cm wide hinged door). From the lift, to reach the first floor, you must overcome 6 steps going down (9 cm high each). On the first floor there are 4 rooms with a hinged door (86 cm wide).
In the church, in the cloister and in the exhibition rooms there are information panels at different heights (110 cm and 170 cm).

Lift
The lift connecting the two floors of the building has the following characteristics:
- door width: 90 cm; cabin: inner space 153x136 cm
- Elevator push buttons panel with embossed Braille printing at a maximum height of 110 cm
- emergency bell at a maximum height of 127 cm.
Orientation signage
In the different external and internal spaces (except for the interior of the church) there are directional arrows with large lettering (at least 7 cm) and well contrasted.
Toilet facilities
In the architectural complex there are several toilet facilities There are two accessible toilets for people with disabilities.
The first one, located in the farmyard to the left of the Bottega Solidale, can be reached by a ramp (length: 100 cm, slope of 7%) and has the following characteristics:
- dressing room with hinged door (91 cm wide)
- toilet with hinged door (86 cm wide)
- washbasin: clear space in front 140 cm
- wall-mounted toilet (clear space: in front 124 cm; on the right side 134 cm; on the left side 29 cm).
- high contrast symbols indicating toilet facilities, positioned at eye level, using medium to large size letters.
The second one is located in the farmyard inside the "stall" room, opposite the Bottega Solidale, and has the following characteristics:
- dressing room with hinged door (90 cm wide)
- toilet with hinged door (90 cm wide)
- washbasin: clear space in front 130 cm
- floor standing toilet (clear floor space: in front 200 cm, on the right side 32 cm, on the left side 115 cm)
- high contrast symbols indicating toilet facilities, positioned at eye level, using medium to large size letters.
Bottega Solidale
The shop, near the ticket office, sells products of the monastery and other supplies from other monasteries and co-operatives. The shop is accessible and its entrance has a hinged door (100 cm wide)
Food court
From the Bottega Solidale you can access the Food court by overcoming 2 consecutive hinged doors (82 cm wide). The room has rectangular 4-legged tables (clear space below: 76 cm).
Safety exits:
Emergency routes are well indicated. The building has an acoustic alarm device.

Entrance
From the street, crossing a 2 cm threshold and a large door (350 cm wide) you reach the square in front of the church. After a flat path of about 50 m, you reach the Abbey. The entrance has 1 step (3 cm) and two consecutive hinged doors (124 cm wide).
Reception
The infopoint and the ticket office are located on the right side of the Abbey. To reach the infopoint you must overcome 1 step (15 cm) and a manual double-leaf door (66 cm wide each). The counter, of both the Infopoint and the ticket office, is 111 cm high.
The museum staff is at your disposal for information and tourist reception services.
Exhibition itinerary
Founded in 1135 by San Bernardo di Clairvaux, the abbey of Chiaravalle is one of the most important monastic complexes in northern Italy.The tour includes the church, the cloister, the chapel of San Bernardo and the mill (which can be visited upon reservation only).
Inside the church the central nave has no obstacles; from the side aisles, passing a two-leaf gate (89 cm wide each) you reach the altar, the choir and the chapels.
To visit the altar and the choir it is necessary to overcome 2 steps (14 cm); to visit the chapel of San Bernardo and della Passione, on the other hand, it is necessary to overcome a 2 cm threshold.
To access the internal cloister, from the right aisle, you pass a double-leaf door (65 cm wide each).
The Mill
The medieval structure of the Mill of Chiaravalle develops on two floors, with large rooms.To access the mill, you must pass a large double-leaf gate (170 cm wide each) leading inside.
After covering a section of about 30 m (118 cm wide) with a disconnected surface and passing two consecutive hinged manual doors (90 cm wide), you reach the entrance. The visit to the mill develops on the ground and first floors.
On the ground floor there are 3 rooms used for educational activities (bakery, oven) and a large space used for the permanent exhibition on the restoration of the mill. To enter the exhibition, you must pass through a double-leaf door (45 cm wide each). The exhibition space has descriptive panels along its perimeter (maximum height: 83 cm).
The first floor can be reached via two series of 6 and 12 steps (15 cm) followed by a hinged door (87 cm wide).
On the first floor there are 4 rooms used for meetings and educational activities; they are furnished with rectangular four-legged tables (clear space below: 72 cm) and 20 chairs (seat height 44 cm).The mill can only be visited by booking a guided tour.

Entrance
The park has a number of wide entrances without steps.
Itinerary
Its perimeter is about 3,5 km; the paths are wide, without any particular obstacles and the ground is beaten earth with some parts in gravel. There are some minor gradients.
The park is in the romantic "English style" and is entirely fenced. There are a number of recreation areas.
The park has a rich collection of trees and shrubs; a sulphurous water source; the "pinto-scultorea" fountain created in 1973 by Giorgio De Chirico and a lake with a bridge decorated with the bronze mermaids from an ancient bridge over the Naviglio in Via San Damiano. The typical fountains of Milano are worthy of note – they are known as the ‘green dragons' and have a spray of 88 cm.
Surrounding the park there are important historical and cultural buildings, such as the Arena Napoleonica, the Aquarium, the Torre del Parco, designed by Cesare Chiodi and Giò Ponti, a civic library and the Triennale di Milano.
Public toilets
Inside the park there is a toilet equipped for people with disabilities near the play area, next to the Arena. On the occasion of events and manifestations, mobile toilets are placed around the park. It is also possible to use the toilets equipped for persons with disabilities in the museum of the Castello Sforzesco.
Other services
Inside the park there are SOS pillars. Throughout the area there are numerous benches, some of them situated in shady areas and the typical fountains of Milan, the so called “green dragon” (h water leakage 88 cm).
