Fondazione studio museo Vico Magistretti is based in the studio where Magistretti worked throughout his lifetime: in the center of Milano, facing the Conservatory of Music, next to the beautiful Santa Maria della Passione Church.

The studio is now a museum that narrates – through the architect-designer's projects, his objects, the spaces where he unleashed his creativity, the views of the city from the windows – chapters of the culture of design, stories of innovation, tradition and production.

Those who enter the studio immediately meet Magistretti (in a video montage of several interviews done during the last decade of his career), talking about himself in a sort of familiar and professional autobiography. He speaks about his own Milano, where he was born and where he lived; he speaks of friends, colleagues, of his idea of design, of his rich relationships with the companies he has worked with over decades, of his extraordinarily intense professional activities.

To the Foundation, set up in 2010, numbers as co-founders Triennale Milano, Artemide, Cassina, De Padova, Flou, Schiffini and Oluce. Fondazione studio museo Vico Magistretti houses design and architecture exhibitions and organises guided tours, talks and meetings on the exhibitions themes as well as workshops and educational activities for schools.

Since January 2020, on the centenary of Magistretti birth's, the Studio Magistretti Archive can be accessed online. The portal can be defined as the first monograph, in Italian and English, on Magistretti’s work, thanks to about 400 historical-critical profiles, a complete listing of all his works, and over 30,000 digital objects (technical drawings, sketches, project descriptions, clippings from magazines and newspapers, notes).
