The trailers are over, everything is black and resists. You hear a music that accompanies words on the screen. Every cult film has its trademark, a memorable scene imprinted on spectators’ minds. Just a few visual and sound minutes that make us feel fear, empathy, anger, excitement. The cinema teaches us that those few moments have often been attributed to the opening credits, which have become, over time, an ingenuity test and creative flair for directors and screenwriters. We remember the sweet descent to the underworld of Kill Bill vol1 on the notes of Nancy Sinatra; the abyss of terror in Hitchcock’s Vertigo, up to the iconic flashy and symmetrical shots by Wes Anderson, the unforgettable pistol shots and elegance of 007.

In the throes of lucid stylistic delusions, some directors have placed their headlines in the middle of the feature film, to mark the real beginning of the film, as in the case of Climax by Gaspar Noè. And it is precisely the opening titles that have marked the history of the cinema. They all will be celebrated during the third meeting of the review “Pictures among the notes. Journey into the world of film soundtracks”, on December 12th, at the Spazio Wow. Massimo Privitera will lead the meeting director of the online magazine ColonneSonore.net. During the event we will be able to see and hear Bernard Herrmann's Vertigo and International Intrigue. Henry Mancini's Pink Panther, 007, Star Wars, Superman, John Williams' Shark, and many others.
