Useless bodies? Elmgreen & Dragset

A contemporary art exhibition at Fondazione Prada

Fondazione Prada
Largo Isarco 2

"Useless Bodies?" is one of the most ambitious thematic investigations conducted by the Prada Foundation to date, created by the artist duo Elmgreen & Dragset
It explores the present condition of the body in the post-industrial era, in which it seems that our physical presence is losing its centrality so much so that it is almost superfluous.

Body perception is an underlying theme for Elmgreen & Dragset and it connects many aspects of their sculptural and performative works. Throughout their career, the artists have confronted fundamental issues such as growing up, intimacy, identity, the different ways of living and exploring the public sphere.

Following an exhibition itinerary that, from the two floors of the Podium develops into the Nord gallery and the Cisterna, the public encounters a sequence of immersive installations. The Milano premises of Fondazione Prada is thus transformed into a plurality of universes each with their own atmospheres, aesthetics and themes.

From 31st March to 22nd August 2022.
